**TIRUVARUR, April 5, 2025** – The Tiruvarur District Police have announced significant traffic restrictions in Tiruvarur town on April 7th, due to the Aazhither Thiruvizha (car festival) at the Sri Thyagarajaswamy temple. The restrictions, in effect from Monday morning until the temple cars return to their decks, will prohibit most vehicles from entering the town.
Designated alternate routes have been established for vehicles from Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Thiruthuraipoondi regions. Public transport buses and heavy vehicles will be diverted to these routes. Private vehicles belonging to devotees will be directed to several designated parking areas around the town, including railway goods shed areas, near the New Bus Stand, and various school grounds. Devotees are encouraged to walk from these parking lots to the Four Ratha Veedhis to participate in the festival. Only police and essential service vehicles will be permitted within the town during the festival.
