**NOIDA, INDIA** – A 55-year-old man, Nurullah Haider, has been arrested in Noida, India, for allegedly murdering his wife, 42-year-old software engineer Asma Khan, police confirmed Saturday. Haider reportedly bludgeoned Khan to death with a hammer during a domestic dispute on Friday in Sector 15.
The couple’s son alerted authorities after the incident, dialing India’s emergency number 112. Police and forensic experts arrived on the scene and took Haider into custody. Khan’s body was sent for a post-mortem examination.
According to police, Haider, an unemployed engineering graduate from Bihar, suspected his wife, a Jamia Millia Islamia engineering graduate who worked in Sector 62, of infidelity. The couple, married since 2005, have two children, a son studying engineering and a daughter in Class 8.
Khan’s brother-in-law stated that the couple had been arguing for several days, but the family did not anticipate the violent outcome. The investigation is ongoing.
