**Austin, TX – April 3, 2024** – Paramount+ has announced that production has begun on the second season of its critically acclaimed drama series, *Landman*. The streaming service released a photo of star Billy Bob Thornton, reprising his role as Tommy, a crisis manager in the oil industry, on set in Texas. The image shows Thornton holding a script for episode 201.
No premiere date for Season 2 has been revealed. However, fans can look forward to the return of the full ensemble cast, including Demi Moore, Andy Garcia, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chávez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Colm Feore.
Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, *Landman* is based on Wallace’s podcast exploring the lives of those working in and affected by the U.S. oil industry. Thornton previously revealed that Sheridan specifically wrote the character of Tommy with him in mind. “He described the world to me, described the character, which he essentially said was me,” Thornton stated in a November interview. “He said, ‘I have your voice.’ And he did.”
