Fri Apr 04 20:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana CM Pushes for Market-Relevant Courses in State Universities

**Hyderabad, April 5, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has called for a major overhaul of the state’s university curriculum, urging institutions to prioritize student-centric, market-relevant courses to ensure graduates are employment-ready.

Addressing Vice-Chancellors on Friday, Reddy emphasized the need to replace outdated courses with programs catering to emerging technologies and industry demands. He highlighted the responsibility of government universities to equip students from underprivileged backgrounds with the skills needed to compete effectively, particularly as financially well-off students increasingly opt for private institutions.

Reddy suggested reassigning professors teaching obsolete methodologies to administrative roles, preventing universities from becoming “rehabilitation centers.” He acknowledged the challenges faced by universities, including professor shortages and inadequate infrastructure, and pledged government funding for infrastructure improvements, requesting a comprehensive report detailing university needs. The initiative aims to better prepare students for the job market and bridge the gap between education and employment opportunities.
