**Boston, MA –** The Boston area woke up to a mix of sunshine and blustery conditions following overnight rain that left behind puddles and damp ground. Rainfall totals ranged from 0.25 inches in Southeastern Massachusetts to 1 inch in areas northwest of Boston. Lingering showers in Southeastern Massachusetts cleared by 9am.

Northwest winds gusting to 35 mph ushered in cooler temperatures, with highs in the mid-40s inland and low to mid-50s along the coast. Sunshine returned gradually, starting inland around 8am and reaching the Cape and Islands by noon.

Tonight will be significantly colder, dipping into the 20s under clear skies. Thursday will be cool again, with highs in the 40s, but increasing clouds will bring scattered showers Wednesday night into Thursday night. Temperatures will rise to the 60s on Thursday.

Friday is expected to be dry and mild, with sunny skies and a gentle breeze— promising good weather for the Red Sox home opener. However, wet weather and cooler temperatures are forecast to return by Saturday afternoon.
