Sat Apr 05 09:37:42 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Artist Channels Grief into Interactive Carpet Art Exhibit

**Bengaluru, April 5, 2025** – Fannan Raza, a Bengaluru-based artist and interior designer, is showcasing his unique collection of “art in carpets” at Sublime Galleria in UB City until April 27th. The exhibition, titled “Carpeted Journeys Within,” features over 25 intricately designed carpets incorporating augmented reality.

Raza’s work, inspired by Persian carpet artistry and his late father, an innovative engineer, explores themes of loss and grief. Each 27” x 35” carpet, created digitally and presented vertically, tells a story, ranging from Arabian Nights mysticism to still life, anime, and abstract art. Viewers can use the Artivive app to scan QR codes beneath each piece, bringing the artwork to life with animations and voiceovers created by Raza himself.

The artist explains that the augmented reality component allows him to express emotions he finds difficult to articulate directly. He uses a process of sketching and revisiting memories to create layered narratives within each piece, reflecting his journey of coping with his father’s death four years ago.

Raza’s background in tattoo design and a belief in manifestation are also reflected in his work. He cites his first solo show at Sublime Galleria, overlooking his former school, as a testament to his perseverance. Raza hopes his exhibition will encourage others to acknowledge and process their own grief, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. Entry to the exhibition is ₹50.
