Sat Apr 05 08:10:00 UTC 2025: ## New Zealand Sweeps Pakistan in ODI Series Whitewash

**Auckland, New Zealand:** New Zealand completed a comprehensive 3-0 whitewash over Pakistan in their three-match ODI series, concluding with a 43-run victory in the final match on Tuesday. The match, reduced to 42 overs a side due to rain, saw Pakistan’s batting line-up again hampered by concussion substitutions.

For the second consecutive match, Pakistan fielded 12 batsmen due to players suffering concussions. In the final game, Imam-ul-Haq retired hurt after being hit on the head, requiring a concussion substitute. This follows a similar incident in the previous match involving Haris Rauf.

Despite winning the toss and electing to bowl, Pakistan’s bowlers were unable to restrict New Zealand to a significantly low score. New Zealand posted 264/8 in their allotted 42 overs, thanks to strong knocks of 59 from captain Michael Bracewell and 58 from Reece Mariu. Akef Javed led the Pakistan bowling attack, taking four wickets.

In response, Pakistan got off to a promising start but Imam-ul-Haq’s early departure disrupted their innings. Babar Azam top-scored with 50, but the constant changes to the batting order due to concussion replacements ultimately proved detrimental. Pakistan were bowled out for 221 in 40 overs, handing New Zealand a comfortable victory and a clean sweep of the series. The repeated concussion issues significantly impacted Pakistan’s performance throughout the series.
