**Madurai, April 4, 2025** – The water level in the Mullaperiyar dam stood at 113.15 feet on Friday, remaining below the maximum permissible level of 142 feet. Inflow was recorded at 396 cusecs, with a discharge of 105 cusecs. The Vaigai dam registered a level of 56.40 feet (maximum 71 feet), with an inflow of 110 cusecs and a discharge of 72 cusecs. The combined storage in Periyar credit was 2,010.16 mcft.

Significant rainfall was recorded in the region in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. Friday. Mullaperiyar dam received 34.8 mm, followed by Kodaikanal (29.6 mm), Vaigai dam (27.6 mm), and other locations across the region reporting varying amounts. These figures were reported by The Hindu.
