Thu Apr 03 23:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Congress Accuses Ruling BRS of Massive Land Scam in Telangana

**Hyderabad, April 3, 2025** – The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, B. Mahesh Kumar Goud, launched a strong attack against the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing the party of orchestrating widespread land scams and causing significant economic damage to the state during its ten-year tenure.

In a press conference in New Delhi, Goud challenged the BRS to a debate on the alleged land deals, vowing to hold the party accountable. He dismissed claims by BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) of returning to power, predicting the BRS’s complete wipeout in the next elections.

Goud alleged that BRS leaders, particularly KTR, systematically transferred prime government lands around Hyderabad to party associates at heavily discounted prices. He characterized the BRS’s rule as “land loot, not governance,” accusing them of treating public assets as personal property. He further asserted that the BRS was ousted due to its alleged looting and economic mismanagement.

Goud also accused the BRS and the BJP of collaborating to hinder the state’s development, urging citizens to be wary of their “divisive tactics.” He highlighted the Congress party’s role in recovering 400 acres of land in Kancha Gachibowli, bordering the University of Hyderabad, which he claimed was illegally gifted to IMG Bharata by a previous administration and subsequently reclaimed through legal action.
