Fri Apr 04 12:34:25 UTC 2025: ## PM Modi to Inaugurate New Pamban Rail Bridge in Tamil Nadu

**Madurai, Tamil Nadu, April 4, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Pamban rail bridge in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, on April 6th, 2025. The event will include the remote operation of the bridge’s unique vertical lift mechanism by the Prime Minister himself. He will also flag off the inaugural Rameswaram-Tambaram Express and a Coast Guard ship.

The new bridge features a vertical lift span, a first of its kind in India. Following the inauguration, PM Modi will address a public gathering, dedicating the bridge and several national highway projects to the nation. These projects include the four-laning of the Walajahpet/Ranipet section of NH 40 and the dedication of four-laned sections of NH 332, NH 32, and NH 36.

The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and other dignitaries. PM Modi will also visit the Rameswaram temple before the event.
