**Nidau, [Date]** – The city of Nidau will expand its special needs education offerings with the addition of two new primary school classes for the Heilpädagogische Tagesschule (special needs day school) starting in the 2025/2026 school year. The Gemeinderat (municipal council) approved a three-year lease agreement for space within the Burgerallee school building on the Burgerbeunden school grounds.

These new satellite classes will serve children from Nidau and the surrounding region attending the special needs school. With this addition, Nidau will now offer a complete range of special needs education, from kindergarten through primary school.

This expansion builds upon the successful integration of two upper-secondary satellite classes from the same school, which have been housed in the Burgerbeunden school since the 2023/2024 school year. The city reports an excellent collaborative relationship with the Heilpädagogische Tagesschule.
