Fri Apr 04 09:49:28 UTC 2025: ## Intern Dies After Alleged Self-Harm Following Sexual Assault Accusation

**RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM, Andhra Pradesh –** A 23-year-old pharmacy intern died early Friday morning, April 4, 2025, eleven days after allegedly attempting suicide following accusations of sexual assault and intimidation. The intern, a native of Eluru district, was an intern at KIMS-Bollineni hospital in Rajamahendravaram.

According to the East Godavari district in-charge Medical and Health Officer, Dr. N. Vasundhara, the intern passed away around 1:30 a.m. Her body was sent to the Government General Hospital, Rajamahendravaram, for an inquest.

The intern had allegedly attempted suicide on March 24, 2025, accusing KIMS-Bollineni Hospital Assistant General Manager Deepak of sexual assault and intimidation. Deepak was arrested on March 26, 2025. The victim had been receiving treatment at the same hospital where she attempted suicide.
