Fri Apr 04 08:37:27 UTC 2025: ## US Airstrike Kills 12 in Sanaa During Ramadan

**Sanaa, Yemen** – A US airstrike on March 15th, during the final day of Ramadan, tragically killed all 12 members of the al-Zeini family in their home in northern Sanaa. The strike, part of a series ordered by then-President Donald Trump, targeted what the US claimed were Houthi fighters and military installations. However, the victims were civilians gathered for the evening meal.

Ammar Mohammed, a relative of the family, witnessed the attack firsthand. He was just a short distance away when a deafening explosion demolished the al-Zeini home, leaving behind only a smoldering pile of rubble. Mohammed, along with other neighbors, frantically searched for survivors but found none. He described the scene as chaotic and devastating, recounting the sudden shift from the joyous sounds of Ramadan celebrations to the screams of terror as the neighborhood was rocked by the blast.

Another resident, Khawla, narrowly avoided a similar tragedy. Her two young sons, playing outside their home near the al-Zeinis, were thrown several meters by the blast. While they survived with bruises and cuts, the incident left them deeply traumatized and fearful of further attacks.

The US airstrikes, reportedly intended to deter Houthi attacks on Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea, resulted in at least 53 deaths and nearly 100 injuries. The incident has sparked outrage, with witnesses highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the attacks and the complete disregard for civilian lives. Mohammed lamented the lack of distinction made between combatants and civilians, emphasizing that the al-Zeini family were simply breaking their fast together when the attack occurred. The incident underscores the devastating human cost of the ongoing conflict in Yemen.
