**Hyderabad, [Date]:** Hyderabad and several districts in Telangana experienced heavy rainfall yesterday, bringing much-needed relief from the scorching heat. The downpour, which started around 3 PM and continued until late into the night, caused widespread disruption. Several areas witnessed thunderstorms, lightning, and even hail, leading to traffic jams as trees were uprooted.
Kamarreddy district recorded the highest rainfall, with 65-100 mm of precipitation. Hyderabad city experienced torrential rain, leaving residents drenched and roads flooded. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted similar conditions for the next three days, issuing a yellow alert for today. Citizens are advised to take precautions and only venture out if necessary.
Yesterday, rainfall in Hyderabad ranged from 7-9 cm in ten locations and 7-8 cm in twelve other locations. The IMD reported heavy rainfall across 38 areas within the city.
The IMD has also issued an orange alert for several districts in northern Telangana due to a surface depression over Marathwada and adjoining central Maharashtra. This system is expected to bring heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and hail for the next three days. A total of 22 districts in Telangana are under alert for heavy rainfall over the next three days.
