**Mumbai, April 4, 2025** – A Virgin Atlantic flight from London Heathrow to Mumbai was forced to make an unscheduled landing in Diyarbakir, Turkey, on April 2nd due to a medical emergency onboard. Flight VS358, carrying over 200 passengers, was originally scheduled to arrive in Mumbai at 1:40 am on Thursday.

The Airbus A350-1000 is expected to resume its journey to Mumbai at 12:00 pm local time today, pending necessary approvals. A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson confirmed that if approvals are delayed, alternative arrangements, including bus transfers to another airport for a connecting flight, will be made. Until then, passengers are being provided with hotel accommodations and refreshments in Diyarbakir.

The Indian Embassy in Ankara has assured passengers that it is actively coordinating with Virgin Atlantic, Diyarbakir Airport, and the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure the passengers’ well-being and facilitate a swift resolution. The Embassy is working to secure an alternative flight to Mumbai for the stranded passengers.
