The PTI Fact Check Desk investigated a Facebook post, shared widely, that promised the cashback in exchange for registration via a provided link.
The investigation revealed that the links within the post led to non-functional and potentially fraudulent websites, not affiliated with PhonePe. Further checks across PhonePe’s official website and social media platforms confirmed that no such cashback offer exists. The company has previously warned against similar cashback scams.
PhonePe has not announced any IPL-related cashback promotions. The PTI investigation concludes that the viral post is entirely misleading and urges users to exercise caution when encountering similar offers online.
