**New Delhi, April 4, 2025** – The Delhi Assembly will install a new 500 KW solar energy system within the next 100 days, Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta announced today. This initiative aims to make the Assembly complex entirely self-sufficient in terms of power, reducing monthly electricity bills by ₹15 lakh.

Currently, the Assembly uses two 100 KW solar plants. The new system will bring the total capacity to 700 KW, exceeding the Assembly’s estimated 600 KW energy requirement. Solar panels will be installed on rooftops and available open spaces within the complex. Gupta expressed confidence that the project would be completed within the 100-day deadline.
