**Bengaluru, April 4, 2025** – A special court in Bengaluru has refused to dismiss sexual assault charges against former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna. The court cited sufficient evidence, including digital materials, to warrant a trial. While acknowledging the need to verify the digital evidence during the trial, Judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat stated that the collected materials and witness testimonies create a strong suspicion of wrongdoing, precluding the accused’s discharge at this stage. The court noted the societal implications of a woman coming forward with such accusations, suggesting a presumption of truthfulness. The alleged assault involved a domestic help at Revanna’s properties in Hassan and Bengaluru during the 2021 COVID lockdown. The case, initially registered in K R Nagar, was later transferred to the CID’s Special Investigation Team.
