**Hubballi, April 4, 2025** – Gadag Zilla Panchayat has achieved a remarkable feat in tax collection, surpassing its target by 100.61% and securing seventh place statewide. A special drive involving door-to-door visits and awareness campaigns resulted in 90 out of 122 gram panchayats achieving 100% tax collection.
The initiative, which included a ‘tax month’ program with repeated visits to households, led to the collection of ₹1,395.95 lakh against a target of ₹1,387.54 lakh. CEO Bharath S. attributed the success to the combined efforts of gram panchayat officials, employees, elected representatives, and the cooperation of taxpayers.
Several taluks within Gadag exceeded their targets significantly, including Mundaragi (105.28%), Naragund (100.86%), Ron (104.86%), Shirahatti (102.47%), Gajendragad (100.60%), and Laxmeshwar (105.28%). Gadag taluk itself achieved 94.8% of its target. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the challenges faced in collecting pending taxes across the state.
