**Ayodhya, UP:** Ayodhya is set to witness a spectacular Ram Navami celebration this year, featuring a grand Deepotsav (festival of lights) for the first time. The festivities, organized under the aegis of the Tourism and Culture Department, will include cultural programs featuring renowned national artists at Ram Katha Park’s parking area on the Ashtami and Navami days.

Over two lakh diyas (earthen lamps) will illuminate the Ram Katha Park, Pakka Ghat, and Ram Ki Padi, creating a breathtaking spectacle. A unique “heritage walk” from Kanak Bhavan to Ram Katha Park is planned for Ashtami, offering devotees a glimpse into Ayodhya’s rich cultural heritage. The Ram Katha Park will also host various cultural performances, including dance, music, and theatre. A Saras Mela (craft fair) and a furniture mela will add to the attractions.

A novel initiative will see drones used to spray holy Sarayu river water to cool devotees amidst the heat. District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh stated that this is a gesture to honor devotees’ faith in Mother Sarayu, aiming to provide a unique and memorable experience.

Extensive arrangements have been made to accommodate the large number of expected devotees, including food stalls, drinking water facilities, medical camps, and toilets. The Ram Mandir Trust has also extended darshan timings. The administration is committed to ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience for all visitors, aiming to establish Ayodhya as a global tourism hub. Preparations for the cultural programs and Deepotsav are complete, according to Regional Tourism Officer RP Yadav.
