Wed Apr 02 06:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Naseem Shah Achieves Second Highest ODI Score by a No. 11 Batsman

**Karachi, Pakistan:** Pakistan suffered an 84-run defeat against New Zealand in the second ODI of their three-match series, but fast bowler Naseem Shah etched his name in the record books with a remarkable batting performance. Despite Pakistan’s overall loss (chasing 293, they were bowled out for 208), Shah smashed a stunning 51 runs batting at number 11, making him the second highest scorer ever at that position in ODI history.

His innings, which included four fours and four sixes off 44 balls, is only surpassed by fellow Pakistani, Mohammad Amir’s 58 runs against England in 2016. Remarkably, the top three highest scores by a number 11 batsman in ODIs are all Pakistanis, with Shoaib Akhtar’s 43 runs also featuring in the list.

Shah’s half-century, his first in ODIs, included an 11th-wicket partnership of 34 runs with Sufiyan Muqeem. New Zealand’s Mitchell He, who scored an unbeaten 99, was named player of the match. The series is now 2-0 in New Zealand’s favour.
