Wed Apr 02 09:20:02 UTC 2025: ## Comedian Kunal Kamra Offers Vacation After Banker Witness Summoned

**Mumbai, April 2, 2025** – Comedian Kunal Kamra has offered a free vacation in India to a banker who was summoned as a witness in a defamation case against him. The banker, who attended Kamra’s controversial Mumbai show, received a police summons on March 29th after a complaint was filed by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel alleging defamation of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Though police later stated the banker’s immediate presence wasn’t required, the summons forced him to cut short his vacation. Kamra, expressing regret on social media platform X, stated, “I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience… Please email me so that I can schedule your next vacation anywhere you’d like in India.”

The case originates from a parody song performed during Kamra’s show, seemingly targeting Shinde without explicitly naming him. Following the performance, Shiv Sena activists vandalized the recording studio. An FIR was registered at the Khar police station on March 28th, leading to Kamra securing interim anticipatory bail from the Madras High Court on the same day. The court adjourned the case until April 7th. Police initially denied summoning audience members, clarifying that only the banker, who booked his ticket via BookMyShow, was initially contacted.
