**Chennai, April 1, 2025** – A horrific road accident near Singaperumalkoil, Tamil Nadu claimed the lives of three people, including a one-year-old child, late Monday night. The accident occurred when a lorry rear-ended a car stopped at a traffic signal in Thirutheri.
The car, carrying a family of six returning from Madurai, was sandwiched between the lorry and a container truck. The impact caused significant damage to the car, resulting in the immediate deaths of the driver, Saravanan, and Karthik’s father-in-law, Ayyanar. Karthik, his wife Nandini, her mother, a seven-year-old girl, and the one-year-old boy sustained injuries and were rushed to the Government General Hospital in Chengalpattu. Tragically, the infant succumbed to their injuries later.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, focusing on the lorry driver’s alleged speeding. The mangled remains of the vehicles serve as a grim reminder of the dangers of reckless driving.
