Tue Apr 01 09:40:00 UTC 2025: **Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expires for Parts of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia**

JACKSONVILLE, FL – (March 31, 2025) – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued earlier for Nassau County, Florida, and Camden and Glynn counties in Georgia has expired. The watch, which was in effect until 9 p.m. Monday, warned of the potential for severe winds and hail.

Southern Georgia experienced the highest risk of severe weather between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., with damaging winds exceeding 40 mph possible in areas between Waycross and the coast. The threat to Jacksonville was lessened as the storm system weakened and dissipated while moving eastward.

Rainfall amounts were expected to be minimal, less than 0.1 inches in Northeast Florida and up to 0.5 inches in Georgia. By 9 p.m., the storm was expected to weaken and move offshore.
