Tue Apr 01 01:00:00 UTC 2025: **Notre Dame Star Olivia Miles Undecided on WNBA Draft Entry**
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles, projected as a top-two pick in the upcoming WNBA draft, is still weighing her options between entering the league or returning for another season of college basketball. Following the Irish’s Sweet 16 loss to TCU, Miles admitted to being torn, stating that her decision fluctuates daily.
“I’m still thinking about what I want to do, but leaning towards the draft,” Miles said. “But tomorrow, I might wake up and be like, ‘I want to come back.'”
The 22-year-old, who is draft-eligible due to four years of college, including a redshirted season, averaged 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.6 rebounds this season. While she acknowledges the appeal of immediately joining the WNBA, which begins May 16th, she also cited the comfort and security of college basketball. The prospect of a lottery pick, potentially going second overall to the Seattle Storm, is a significant factor in her deliberations. Miles also noted that her ankle injury, sustained earlier in the NCAA tournament, is still impacting her.
“The volatility [of the WNBA] is up and down,” Miles explained. “[Being a lottery pick] is a lot to give up. I’ve worked hard for that.” She plans to consult with advisors before making her final decision by the April 14th draft deadline.
