**Chandigarh, April 1, 2025** – Self-styled preacher Bajinder Singh, 42, was sentenced to life imprisonment on Tuesday by a Mohali court for repeated rape and sexual harassment. The conviction stems from a 2018 complaint alleging repeated rapes and the creation of obscene videos without the victim’s consent. Singh, who heads the Glory and Wisdom Church, had previously faced accusations of fraud and more recently, sexual harassment and stalking. Five other accused in the rape case were acquitted. The court found Singh guilty under section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to repeated rape on the same woman. The sentence marks the culmination of a case that began with a 2018 FIR filed by the victim. Singh’s ministry, which claims to offer “miracle services,” has drawn controversy in recent years.
