Tue Apr 01 09:09:25 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Teacher Arrested for Blackmailing Parent After Affair

**Bengaluru, India** – A 25-year-old school teacher, Sridevi Rudagi, has been arrested along with two accomplices, Ganesh Kale (38) and Sagar (28), for allegedly blackmailing a parent and extorting a significant sum of money. The Central Crime Branch apprehended the trio following a complaint from a businessman, Satish (name changed), who alleged that Rudagi, his daughter’s teacher, had engaged in an affair with him before blackmailing him with intimate photos and videos.

Satish, a trader residing in West Bengaluru, enrolled his five-year-old daughter at the school in 2023. He met Rudagi during the admission process, and their relationship developed into an affair involving private communication and meetings. Rudagi initially extorted ₹4 lakh (approximately $48,000 USD) from Satish. However, the extortion escalated in January when she demanded ₹15 lakh.

The situation intensified in March when Satish, facing financial difficulties and needing his daughter’s Transfer Certificate, visited the school. He was confronted by Rudagi, Kale, and Sagar, who threatened to release compromising photos and videos to his family unless he paid ₹20 lakh.

After negotiations, Satish initially paid ₹1.9 lakh, but the demands persisted. A subsequent phone call from Rudagi detailing the distribution of the remaining payment – ₹5 lakh to a purported former police officer and ₹1 lakh each to Sagar and Kale – prompted Satish to contact the police. Investigations revealed the former police officer’s involvement to be false.

Rudagi, Kale, and Sagar have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. The police are continuing their investigation into the case.
