**Belagavi, Karnataka – April 1, 2025** – A faction within the Karnataka BJP, reportedly opposed to state president B.Y. Vijayendra, is actively working to overturn the expulsion of party leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, according to former minister and BJP MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi.

Jarkiholi, speaking to reporters in Belagavi, expressed confidence that Yatnal would be reinstated and would not form a new political party. He revealed that a strategy involving seeking the support of religious leaders from various communities, including Lingayats, Scheduled Castes/Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, has been devised. Teams of BJP leaders will visit respective religious mutts to garner this support.

The decision to engage religious leaders followed a meeting of concerned BJP leaders in Bengaluru. Jarkiholi further stated that Yatnal has been advised to refrain from making any statements critical of BJP leaders to avoid further damaging the party. He emphasized the existing strength of organizations like the RSS and BJP in representing Hindutva ideology, making a new party unnecessary. The efforts to reinstate Yatnal highlight internal divisions within the Karnataka BJP.
