CLIMAX TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A tragic accident claimed the lives of three family members and left three others injured Sunday evening in Climax Township, Kalamazoo County. Authorities report that a large tree fell onto a car traveling on East S Avenue, just west of South 47th Street, around 5:41 p.m.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and confirmed the deaths of three occupants of the vehicle. Three other family members were transported to the hospital with injuries. As of Sunday night, one victim remains in critical condition, while two others are listed as stable.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details, including the identities of the victims, will be released pending notification of next of kin.
