**KALAMAZOO, MI** – A tragic accident claimed the lives of three family members and injured three others Sunday evening in Kalamazoo County. Around 5:40 p.m., a large tree fell onto a vehicle traveling on East South Avenue, just west of South 47th Street. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and is currently investigating the incident.
Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while three others sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. At least one of the injured victims is reportedly in critical condition. The Sheriff’s Office is withholding the identities of the victims pending notification of next of kin.
