**Chandigarh, March 30, 2025** – Punjab Police announced the successful dismantling of a trans-border drug smuggling operation on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of six kilograms of heroin. The suspects, identified as Hardeep Singh (@ Deep) and Harjeet Singh, both residents of Thathi Sohal in Tarn Taran, have prior criminal records.
According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the Tarn Taran Police acted swiftly on intelligence, tracing the network’s connections. Preliminary investigations indicate the heroin originated from Pakistan-based smugglers.
An FIR has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), and further investigations are underway. DGP Yadav reiterated the Punjab Police’s commitment to eradicating drug cartels and making the state drug-free.
