**Bengaluru, March 29, 2025** – The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) today announced its budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, totaling ₹19,927.08 crore. The budget prioritizes infrastructure development, maintenance, and public welfare initiatives.

A significant portion, 65% (₹12,952.20 crore), is earmarked for development projects, reflecting the administration’s focus on urban improvements and expansion. Operation and maintenance will receive 10% (₹1,968.70 crore) to ensure the city’s essential services continue to function effectively.

Addressing the crucial issue of solid waste management, the BBMP has allocated ₹1,400 crore (7% of the budget) to enhance waste disposal systems. Establishment expenses, including salaries and administrative costs, account for 9% (₹1,751.23 crore), with administrative expenses alone at ₹393.01 crore (2%).

Public welfare programs, encompassing health, education, and social initiatives, will receive ₹857.44 crore (4% of the total budget). Refunds of deposits and cess have been allocated ₹604.50 crore (3%).
