**NEW YORK** – The highly anticipated collaboration between reggaeton star Rauw Alejandro and bachata icon Romeo Santos, “Khé?”, has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. This marks the first No. 1 for both artists since 2023.
The romantic and danceable track, originally written by Rauw Alejandro for his 2021 album *Vice Versa*, was ultimately included on his latest album, *Cosa Nostra*. While initially intended for Romeo Santos, scheduling conflicts delayed the collaboration for nearly four years. The song’s mellower rhythm, blending tropical, reggaeton, kizomba, and even a touch of New York jazz, proved key to its cross-format success.
“We were looking for that flow for Romeo, to be able to collaborate with him,” Alejandro explained in an exclusive interview with Billboard. “I was leaning towards bachata from day one because I’m a bachatero.” Santos’ involvement extended beyond vocals, with the artist contributing to the production and suggesting the incorporation of kizomba rhythms. The pair even filmed a nostalgic black-and-white music video in New York, paying homage to old Broadway.
Alejandro expressed his immense gratitude for the collaboration, highlighting Santos’ selectivity in choosing collaborators: “Romeo doesn’t record with many people, only the top. So, I feel honored to record with Romeo, the legend. It had to happen. Because Romeo and Rauw are the ‘nenes de las nenas’ (the boys of the girls).
