**Ballia, Uttar Pradesh:** A five-year-old Class 1 student was allegedly beaten by his teacher at a composite school in Rewati, Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which reportedly occurred on Wednesday, prompted an immediate investigation ordered by the Basic Education Officer (BEO), Manish Singh.
The student, Karthik Sahani, told reporters he was punished by his teacher, Rajnish Rai, for leaving school grounds to purchase ice cream. He presented visible injury marks on his back as evidence. The BEO learned of the incident through media reports and has directed the Block Education Officer to conduct a thorough investigation and submit a report. Further action will be taken based on the findings of this investigation.
