Fri Mar 28 01:54:29 UTC 2025: ## Fugitive Accused of Forgery and Copyright Violation Used Fake Court Order to Secure Bail

**Pune, India –** A man accused of forgery and copyright violation is on the run after allegedly obtaining anticipatory bail from the Bombay High Court using a fraudulent court order. Haribhau Chemte, a former quality control employee at Pune-based CTR Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, is accused of stealing proprietary designs and providing them to a Chennai-based company.

A 2022 complaint by CTR Manufacturing, alleging misuse of their patented drawings and designs, led to an investigation revealing Chemte’s alleged involvement. While facing charges in Pune, Chemte allegedly forged a court order, bearing a fake signature of a Pune Judicial Magistrate (First Class), claiming insufficient evidence under Section 169 of the CrPC. This fabricated order was submitted to the Bombay High Court, securing him anticipatory bail on January 17th.

However, the fraudulent order was discovered, prompting the High Court to vacate Chemte’s bail and launch an inquiry. A fresh complaint was filed with the Vimantal police in Pune, leading to the registration of a new case against Chemte under sections 337, 339, 246, and 318 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (the new Indian penal code). Police are now actively searching for Chemte.
