Fri Mar 28 04:26:18 UTC 2025: ## Anti-Terror Operation in Jammu and Kashmir Continues After Deadly Encounter

**Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, March 28, 2025** – A major anti-terrorist operation is underway in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, following a deadly encounter on Thursday that left three terrorists and three policemen dead. Seven others, including a Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), were injured in the gun battle.

The operation, focused near Jakhole village, began Thursday morning after police received intelligence about a group of suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists who had recently infiltrated from Pakistan. While three terrorist bodies have been sighted, the fate of two others remains unknown. The search for a missing policeman is also ongoing.

The encounter followed an earlier incident on Sunday, March 23rd, where a group of terrorists were intercepted near the International Border in the Hiranagar sector. Although initially surrounded, the terrorists escaped, leading to a wider search operation involving multiple security forces. Evidence suggesting the terrorists’ presence, including weapons, explosives materials, and supplies, was found.

The police believe the terrorists infiltrated on March 22nd, possibly through a ravine or a new tunnel. The People’s Anti-Fascist Front, a JeM proxy, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Senior police officials are overseeing the operation, which continues with security forces cautiously advancing. The operation’s primary goals are retrieving the bodies of the deceased, locating the missing policeman, and neutralizing any remaining threats.
