**TIRUPATI, March 28, 2025** – A timely intervention by Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh facilitated a crucial heart transplant, saving the life of a recipient in Tirupati. Minister Lokesh personally funded a special aircraft and ensured a green corridor for the transport of a donor heart from Guntur to Tirupati.
The donor, Cherukuri Sushma, was declared brain-dead at Ramesh Hospitals in Guntur following a severe illness. With her family’s consent for organ donation, doctors urgently sought assistance to transport her heart. Minister Lokesh’s swift action overcame significant logistical hurdles, ensuring the heart arrived in Tirupati in record time for a successful transplant.
