Thu Mar 27 11:23:05 UTC 2025: **Samajwadi Party MP’s Home Attacked After Controversial Rana Sanga Remarks**

**Agra, India (March 27, 2025)** – Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman refused to apologize Thursday for his controversial comments about Rajput ruler Rana Sanga, a day after his Agra home was attacked by members of the Karni Sena. The attack, which resulted in property damage and injuries, followed Suman’s assertion that Rana Sanga had betrayed Ibrahim Lodi by inviting Babur to India.

An FIR has been filed against an “unknown mob” for rioting, attempted murder, house trespass, and robbery. Suman alleges that the attack, which involved vandalism and damage to multiple cars, was pre-planned and that authorities were aware of the threats made against him on social media since March 22nd. He stated that the attackers’ intention was to harm his family. He has informed the Rajya Sabha Chairman about the incident.

Karni Sena chief Suraj Pal Singh Amu condemned Suman’s remarks as an insult to a Rajput hero and demanded an apology from both Suman and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav. Videos of the attack show a large mob clashing with a small number of police officers, resulting in injuries to one officer.

Suman maintains he will not retract his statements, arguing that his claims are historically accurate, and that Rana Sanga’s actions led to Babur’s victory. He emphasized that “this is history, who can deny it?” SP leader Ramgopal Yadav echoed Suman’s claim that the attack was pre-planned and criticized the authorities’ lack of preventative action. The incident occurred on the same day that Chief Minister Adityanath was in Agra for a public event.
