**Chennai, March 27, 2025** – The release of the highly anticipated Tamil film “Veera Theera Sooran 2,” starring Vikram and directed by S.U. Arunkumar, was temporarily stalled following a legal battle. The film, which was initially slated for release today, faced a last-minute injunction from the Delhi High Court.
Production company B4U, which had invested in the film, filed a suit against the producers, claiming that the release date was announced before the digital rights were finalized. B4U alleged that this premature announcement prevented them from selling the digital rights and caused a 50% loss on their investment.
The court initially issued an interim injunction, preventing the film’s release until 10:30 AM today. Later, the court ordered the producers to deposit ₹7 crore with B4U and submit all relevant documents within 48 hours. The injunction was then extended for four weeks.
However, after a series of hearings and negotiations, the court lifted the injunction this evening. Producer Riya Shibu appeared in court and agreed to a deal with B4U, granting them satellite rights. An initial payment of ₹2.5 crore was made, and a formal agreement is expected to be submitted by both parties by 5 PM today. The court warned of further action if the agreement wasn’t filed on time.
Following the submission of the agreement, “Veera Theera Sooran 2” is expected to be released in theaters at 6 PM today. The film also stars S.J. Suryah, Suraj, and Dushara Vijayan, with music by G.V. Prakash Kumar. The film is the second installment of a two-part series, with plans to release part two before part one.
