**Hyderabad, March 27, 2025** – Hyderabad’s Ramadan celebrations this year have transformed the city into a vibrant culinary hub, showcasing a diverse range of Iftar menus that go beyond the traditional haleem. Restaurants and hotels are offering a unique exploration of Indian cuisine, featuring dishes from various regions including Bohri, Purani Dilli, Moplah, and Madhya Pradesh.
The Trident Hotel, for example, presented an eclectic spread curated by Chef Rohit Singh. His menu, influenced by his culinary journey across India, included Moplah dishes from Kerala, central Indian specialties, and Hyderabadi starters, showcasing lesser-known snacks like tootak (a crispy sweet potato shell). The hotel also highlighted regional creativity with dishes like Hazratganj ki talli machli (a Lucknow-style fish dish) and Jhinge ka salan (okra curry).
MoMo Café’s “Purani Dilli Ki Shaam” recreated Old Delhi’s street food scene, featuring tangdi kebabs, chatpata paneer, and chicken shammis. The menu also introduced less common dishes such as Amritsari dal and chicken changezi. A wide selection of dals, including dal nizami and Pandit Gyan Prasad Wala choley masala, completed the offerings.
Meanwhile, Terrai restaurant focused on local Hyderabadi cuisine with niharis and shorbas, alongside a unique almond-based dessert, badam ki kund, as an alternative to the usual sheer korma.
From the delicate Bohri flavours at Bidri, prepared by home chefs Alifya and Aziz, to the innovative regional fusions at other venues, Hyderabad’s Ramadan Iftar menus offer a rich cultural and culinary experience, demonstrating the city’s diverse food heritage. The focus extends beyond just the food, with each restaurant presenting a unique narrative and a glimpse into different culinary traditions.
