**Chennai, March 27, 2025** – Five individuals, including two women, have been arrested and subsequently released on bail in connection with the ransacking of YouTuber Savukku Shankar’s residence in Kilpauk. According to a complaint filed by Mr. Shankar’s mother, a group dressed as sanitary workers forcibly entered the home on Monday, depositing faecal waste and issuing threats while she was alone.
The incident prompted Mr. Shankar to accuse the city police of inaction, leading to the transfer of the case to the CB-CID (Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department). The arrested individuals, identified as Devi, Bharathi, Vijay, Kalyan, and Selva, were produced before a CB-CID court and released on bail. Police sources indicate that further arrests are expected as the investigation continues to identify and apprehend other individuals involved.
