Tue Mar 25 18:38:04 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Implements New Parking Fee Regulations

**Amaravati, March 26, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government announced new guidelines to regulate parking fees at commercial establishments, effective April 1st. The policy, detailed in G.O. MS No. 44, aims to balance consumer interests with the prevention of parking space misuse.

The new rules introduce a tiered system: parking will be free for the first 30 minutes. Between 30 minutes and one hour, parking is free with proof of purchase from the establishment; otherwise, a fee applies. After one hour, parking remains free only with a purchase receipt exceeding the parking fee; otherwise, a standard fee will be charged.

This initiative follows advocacy from consumer groups, including one led by Vikas Pandey, and recommendations from municipal authorities. The government hopes to curb unfair parking charges while ensuring that parking spaces aren’t monopolized by non-customers.

Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar has instructed all commercial establishments to enforce the new rules, with the Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration responsible for oversight. The government anticipates the policy will benefit shoppers and moviegoers while improving parking management across the state.
