**Austin, TX –** T1 Energy (NYSE: TE), formerly FREYR Battery, announced plans to construct a massive solar cell factory in Milam County, Texas, representing a major investment in US solar manufacturing. The facility, to be located within the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistix Campus at Sandow Lakes (G2 Austin), will receive up to $850 million in capital investment and create up to 1,800 new jobs. Construction is slated to begin in mid-2025.
This announcement follows T1 Energy’s recent acquisition and renaming of a 5-gigawatt solar panel factory in Wilmer, Texas (G1 Dallas).
