Mon Mar 24 03:36:22 UTC 2025: ## Shiv Sainiks Arrested After Vandalism at Mumbai Hotel Following Kunal Kamra’s Joke
**Mumbai, March 24, 2025** – Mumbai Police arrested several Shiv Sena workers on Monday for vandalizing a hotel following a stand-up comedy performance by Kunal Kamra. The vandalism was a response to a joke Kamra made about Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Among those arrested were Shiv Sena leader Kunal Sarmalkar and the party’s social media in-charge, Rahool Kanal. Mr. Sarmalkar confirmed their arrests to *The Hindu*, stating that they were taken into custody after participating in the vandalism. Two other youth leaders involved received police notices and were ordered to cooperate with the investigation.
A separate First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Kamra himself under various sections of the Bombay Police Act (BNS), based on a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel. The charges against the arrested Sainiks are also under BNS sections. All those arrested will appear in court. The arrested Shiv Sainiks will seek bail.
