Mon Mar 24 10:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Kings Extend Win Streak, Defeat Blackhawks 3-1
**Los Angeles, CA** – The Los Angeles Kings continued their strong playoff push, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena. The victory marks the Kings’ sixth win in their last seven games, solidifying their position in the playoff race.
Trevor Moore and Alex Turcotte provided the early offense for Los Angeles, scoring goals just 59 seconds apart in the first period to give the Kings a commanding 2-0 lead. Moore’s goal, a screened shot that deflected off the post, was followed quickly by Turcotte’s deflection of a Vladislav Gavrikov shot. Turcotte’s goal ended a 24-game goal drought.
Connor Bedard, scoring his 19th goal of the season, provided the lone response for Chicago on the power play in the second period. However, the Kings’ strong defensive performance, anchored by Darcy Kuemper’s 17 saves, proved insurmountable. Kuemper has now allowed just four goals in his last five starts, including two shutouts. Joel Edmundson added an empty-net goal late in the third to seal the win for Los Angeles.
The Kings dominated the first period, outshooting the Blackhawks 19-7. Despite a late push by Chicago, Kuemper stood tall, notably making a crucial point-blank save on Lukas Reichel early in the third period.
The loss extends Chicago’s losing streak to a season-high six games (0-5-1), during which they’ve been outscored 25-9. Spencer Knight made 30 saves in net for the Blackhawks.
The Kings’ victory further strengthens their pursuit of second place in the Pacific Division, potentially setting up a first-round playoff rematch with the Edmonton Oilers. Both teams return to action on Saturday; the Kings host the Carolina Hurricanes, while the Blackhawks face the St. Louis Blues.
