**New Delhi** – Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Varma has been removed from active duty with immediate effect, pending further investigation. The decision, announced Monday morning by High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya, follows the discovery of a pile of burnt cash at Justice Varma’s home after a fire on Holi.
The Supreme Court has formed a three-member committee to investigate the incident. Justice Varma had previously denied any knowledge of the cash, stating that the outhouse where the money was found is separate from his main residence, unlocked, and accessible to others. He expressed shock at the discovery and claimed to be the victim of a conspiracy. The investigation is ongoing.
