**Tirunelveli, March 23, 2025** – Tirunelveli City Police have made two more arrests in connection with the murder of retired sub-inspector Zakhir Hussain Bijili. A minor, a relative of one of the accused, was apprehended on Saturday for allegedly tipping off the murder gang about Bijili’s movements after mosque prayers. The juvenile will be housed in a juvenile home. On Sunday, police arrested M. Peer Mohammed, 37, the brother of the prime accused’s wife, following questioning. Investigations are ongoing.
Following the murder, Bijili’s son released a video claiming his own life was in danger, prompting police to provide him with armed security.
