FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas announced today the hiring of Kelsi Musick as the 10th head coach of its women’s basketball program. Musick, who boasts an impressive track record of success at Oral Roberts University (ORU) and Southwestern Oklahoma State University, signed a five-year contract worth $600,000 annually.

Musick’s three-year tenure at ORU saw a dramatic upswing in the Golden Eagles’ performance. She led the team to consecutive 20-win seasons and postseason appearances, culminating in a 24-9 record this year – their best since 1982-83. Her fast-paced, high-scoring offense consistently ranked among the nation’s top 20, averaging over 80 points per game in each of her seasons. She also demonstrated a knack for recruiting top talent, as evidenced by her development of multiple All-Summit League players.

Prior to ORU, Musick spent 13 years at Southwestern Oklahoma State, compiling a .674 winning percentage and leading the Lady Bulldogs to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including a national championship game appearance in 2019. Her teams were also known for their high-scoring offense.

Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek praised Musick’s work ethic, ability to build relationships, and familiarity with the region. He expressed confidence in her ability to elevate the Razorbacks’ program to compete at the highest level in the SEC. Musick herself expressed excitement for the challenge and her desire to build a winning program at Arkansas. The Razorbacks will be looking to Musick to bring the same success she had at her previous coaching stops to the SEC.
