Sat Mar 22 19:23:15 UTC 2025: ## BJP Protests Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Joint Action Committee Meeting

**Chennai, March 23, 2025** – The BJP in Tamil Nadu staged a series of black flag protests on Saturday against the first meeting of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) convened by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. BJP state president K. Annamalai, protesting near his Chennai residence, called the meeting a “political drama” by the DMK. Similar demonstrations took place across the state.

Annamalai criticized Stalin for failing to raise crucial issues with his counterparts from Kerala and Karnataka who attended the meeting. These issues included medical waste dumping in border districts, the Mullaperiyar dam, and the proposed Mekedatu reservoir. Former Telangana Governor and BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan also participated in a black flag protest.

Meanwhile, TMC (Moopanar) president G.K. Vasan accused the Chief Minister of using the JAC meeting as a distraction from pressing law and order issues in Tamil Nadu, suggesting the meeting was politically motivated ahead of elections.
