**Thiruvananthapuram, March 23, 2025** – The Kerala Finance Department announced the release of ₹817 crore for the March social security pension installment. Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal confirmed the disbursement, stating that the pensions will begin reaching beneficiaries on Thursday. Over 60 lakh people are eligible for the pensions, which have been increased to ₹1,600 per month. The funds will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of 26 lakh pensioners, while the remainder will receive their pensions through cooperative banks. The state government also advanced ₹24.31 crore to cover the Central share of pensions for 8.46 lakh beneficiaries.
